Following yesterday’s fantastic victory over world number one Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray is confident he can go all the way at the Australian Open later this month.
The Scot, after having already dispensed of Roger Federer in the semi-final, put a massively impressive performance together to beat Nadal 6-4 5-7 6-3 in the final at the Capitala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi.
Speaking straight after the win, Murray made it clear that he is aiming for the title in Melbourne, where he has never made it past the fourth round.
“That’s what I’m aiming for. I’ve worked really hard in November and December to give myself the best chance in Australia.
I’m going to give it my best shot [in Melbourne]. That’s really the only goal I’ve got left.”
Andy Murray’s push for the Australian Open title gets underway in Melbourne on January 19th.
