Serbia also produced, among the names already mentioned, Viktor Troicki (ranked #34) and on again-off again #1 doubles player in the world - Nenad Zimonjic (and for that matter his partner Daniel Nestor, also from Serbia but playing under the Canadian flag)

Tennis strikes me as a more upper class sport within England. Therefore maybe budding tennis players at grass roots level in England haven't had to endure a tough upbringing like Jankovic or Ivanovic. They undoubtedly have the invaluable quality that is a never say die attitude.

Also Murray went to Spain at the age of 15 to train, highlighting the lack of facilities in England at the time and also that he very much was in control of his development and not exterior factors.

Shame with the interest in Tennis in the UK not more stars are being produced.
