Roma boss Claudio Ranieri is preparing his side for the visit of second-place AC Milan on Saturday, but the former Chelsea manager has emphasised his belief that the title is Inter’s to lose.

Ranieri’s side are currently in third place, seven points behind Mourinho’s league leaders, but a win over Milan at the Stadio Olimpico will see them draw level on points with the Rossoneri.

But the 58-year-old says this year’s Scudetto is Inter’s to throw away as the San Siro side aim for a fifth consecutive title.

“Milan will give it a shot, while Roma keep down their path. But listen to me: the Scudetto is Inter’s to lose,” he told Il Giornale.

Speaking about Saturday’s opponents, Ranieri praised the Milan manager’s determination after a difficult start to the season. “Leonardo has brought in some ideas and was fortunate to have a club watching his back in time of difficulty,” he continued.

“He is second in the league and has to complete an epic comeback against Manchester United to go through.”

Milan will close the gap on Inter to just one point should they beat Roma on Saturday, as their city rivals host Genoa at the San Siro a day later.
