Thanks Ric! I think the cities of Vancouver, Richmond and Whistler all did a fantastic job, in difficult circumstances at times, in making the best installment yet of the Winter Games.

Giuseppe - I can only imagine how wild the celebrations are. I know how Canadians love their hockey, and I was cheering such a great game from over here!

I tend to agree with your thoughts on the closing ceremony.. Those acts have a place in such a ceremony, but i'm not sure it was wise to finish off the show with them. It was a complete disconnect from the rest of the show's theme, and really not the best selection for the show's conclusion.

I'm already dreading to think what we might come up with for Opening and Closing Ceremonies in 2012 though!

The final game was more exciting than we could have ever imagined. I was listening to the game as I was driving from Richmond to Abbotsford. Moments after the winning goal was scored by Sidney Crosby, people took to the streets honking their horns, waving large flags, hollering in extreme jubilation.
The closing ceremony certainly had its good moments but as a whole was not up to Olympic standards. Was it really necessary to include rap and hip hop in its repetoire. I grew up listening to all sorts of Rock and am quite open to different Genre, but the last few acts that ended the show were nothing but loud crap. Is that what we want the rest of the world to remember Vancouver by.
I believe we have a lot more class than that. To bad that when we had the opportunity to show it, we fell incredibly short.

Thank you Paul for saying it as it was. We did have our glitches but at the end the Vancouver Winter Olympic games of 2010 was a resounding success!
