Reports: Martin Jol agrees deal to become Fulham boss

Martin Jol looks set to be announced as Fulham’s new manager as widespread reports claim the Ajax boss has ‘agreed terms’ with the London club.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has accepted a £1.5 million-a-year deal to take over at Craven Cottage, according to ESPN Soccernet.

The same source on Wednesday revealed that the 54-year-old was the front-runner in Fulham’s search for Roy Hodgson’s successor and further reports in the British media now claim the Dutchman will be confirmed as the club’s new manager no later than Monday.

Jol took over at Ajax in May 2009 and although his side were beaten to the Eredivisie title by Steve McClaren’s FC Twente last season, they secured Champions League qualification with a second-place finish.

The Dutchman was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in 2007 after three years in charge at White Hart Lane.
