Roy Hodgson named as new Liverpool manager

Roy Hodgson was today officially unveiled as the new manager of Liverpool Football Club.

Hodgson, 62, has signed a three-year contract at Anfield to make him the 18th manager in the club’s history.

The former Fulham boss is set to hold a press conference this afternoon after taking the first day of pre-season training at Liverpool’s training ground Melwood.

The new Liverpool boss told the clubs official website that: “This is the biggest job in club football and I’m honoured to be taking on the role of manager of Britain’s most successful football club.

“I look forward to meeting the players and the supporters and getting down to work at Melwood.”
