Video: Thierry Henry receives awkward New York welcome

Considering France’s shameful demise in South Africa, one would think there are better ways to begin an interview with Thierry Henry than asking: ‘So you’ve just won the World Cup?’

The error, made by by Rosanna Scotto—co-host of Fox’s Good Day New York television show, set the tone in this cringingly awkward interview with the France star following his transfer to the New York Red Bulls.

The broadcasters only make things worse by cutting to a looped clip of Henry’s now infamous handball as the striker ploughs on through the interview.
