West Ham sign Frédéric Piquionne and Pablo Barrera

West Ham manager Avram Grant has strengthened his squad after completing the signing of two forwards on Friday.
Mexican winger Pablo Barrera, who impressed in South Africa this summer, arrives for a fee in the region of £4 million from UNAM Pumas, on a four-year deal.
Lyon striker Frédéric Piquionne has also signed for the London club. The forward played for Grant while on loan at Portsmouth last season, and has signed a three-year deal.
Piquionne and Barrera are Grant’s second and third signings since taking over at Upton Park after Thomas Hitzelsperger was the first to arrive on a free transfer from Lazio.
French international Piquionne said: “I’m coming to work hard for the squad and to play better than I have ever played before.â€Â
Barrera, who made three substitute appearances at the World Cup, said: “I have been really taken by the reception I have received from the players and the manager.
“The fans can expect that I will give 100% to succeed for the team and to play better than I have ever played before.â€Â
Grant, who replaced Gianfranco Zola, has also promised to make more signings over the next few days.
