Carvalho rejoins Mourinho after £6.7m Real Madrid move

Real Madrid are set to complete the signing of Chelsea’s Ricardo Carvalho after the two clubs agreed a £6.7m fee for the Portuguese defender on Tuesday night.
The 32-year-old will rejoin his former coach José Mourinho at the Bernabéu, with the centre-back expected to sign a two-year deal with Los Blancos.
Carvalho becomes Real Madrid’s fifth signing of the summer and his contract will contain an option to add a third year upon passing a medical in the Spanish captial.
It is the third time that Carvalho will work under Mourinho after they enjoyed successful spells at both Porto and Chelsea. It was Mourinho who lured the centre-back to England from Portugal after a £19.8m move in 2004.
The defender made 210 appearances for The Blues during his time at Stamford Bridge, winning three League titlesâ€â€two of which came during Mourinho’s time in Londonâ€â€and enjoying three FA Cup triumphs.
A Chelsea statement read: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has agreed terms with Real Madrid for the transfer of Ricardo Carvalho.
“The transfer is subject to a medical and the player agreeing personal terms.
“Chelsea would like to thank Riccy for his six years of service, and we wish him well in his future career.â€Â
Chelsea are now looking to add Benfica defender David Luiz to their ranks and are also reported to be keeping a close eye on Mesut Ozil, the highly-rated Germany midfielder.
4 me i tink jose mourinho is one of d best coach in d world of football and is a some 1 dat like challenge so am very sure in spain he will prove himself again as a best in d world.
We have alot of fantastic centre backs, as much as i’ve loved carvalho in the past, it makes sense to get rid of the older one, or for him to want to leave.
ivanovic and alex are more important in my opinion.
