Carlos Tevez insists he has no intention of returning to Manchester City – and has his heart set on a move to boyhood club Boca Juniors.

The Argentina striker has not featured for Roberto Mancini’s side since refusing to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich in the Champions League in September.

Tevez has recently been linked with a move to Italy, with AC Milan and Juventus reportedly heading the chase for the forward’s signature.

But the 27-year-old has poured cold water on that speculation by stating his desire to sign for Argentine side Boca Juniors.

“I don’t care if I have to take a wage cut. I’m tired of travelling and going back and forth. I’m not going back to England,” Tevez told Gente. [I want to] start the pre-season with Boca and play the Copa Libertadores with them.”

Boca recently went on record to say the club would not be able to afford to sign Tevez, who earns around £200,000 a week at City.

Tevez spent three years at La Bombonera before sealing his move to the Premier League in 2006 with West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has all but ruled out a January swoop for Tevez after Spurs were linked with a move for the striker.

Redknapp said: “He is a special player, the type who could make the difference but I wouldn’t think that’s a real possibility.”
