José Enrique insists Liverpool can still finish in the top four
Liverpool's Spanish left-back José Enrique admits their home form has been poor but believes the Anfield outfit can improve

José Enrique believes Liverpool can still finish in the top four – as long as the Reds start to be more clinical at Anfield.
Liverpool have stumbled to seven draws at home this season, hampering their attempts to keep pace with Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
But Enrique is confident the Reds can turn their form around and secure Champions League football for next season.
“I think it’s coming [to the point] with league games now that we have to win if we want to finish in the top four at the end of the season,” Enrique told Liverpool’s website.
“Of course, we have a chance – there are many games and many points still to play for and we can only keep trying.
“We have played eighteen games already and we have seen that every team can beat every team here in the Premier League that’s why it’s the best league in the world. But at the moment we are playing better away than at home.”
Liverpool were left frustrated on Saturday as Kenny Dalglish’s side struggled to breakdown a resilient Stoke City in a goalless draw at Anfield.
However, the Spanish left-back believes it is important that the Red don’t dwell on the disappointing results and instead look to end their poor run of form on Merseyside.
“I think we deserved a win but these things have happened a lot this season in many games at home and we have had too many draws,” he said.
“I think every team at home has to win 70/80 per cent of their matches and so of course we were disappointed but the game has already gone and we have to think about the next one.
“We don’t talk about that much because we don’t have to – we know what happened and it’s more important that we try and find a solution.
“We are still trying and we are playing well but, at the moment, the goal is not coming.” ![]()
