Luis Enrique has admitted that Roma lack the consistency to be considered one of the top teams in Serie A.

Roma are currently in sixth position and trail Serie A leaders AC Milan by 11 points, but Enrique believes his players can improve in the second half of the season.

“I can’t say that we are at the level of the top teams in the table,” said 41-year-old boss. “In order to be a top team you need to be consistent which we haven’t yet proved.

“The only team I have seen who are clearly better than us on the pitch is Milan but as far as consistency goes we are far from all the teams challenging for the Serie A title or aiming to end the season in the Champions League places.

“But the season is long and that is good for us because we know we haven’t been cosistent in the first half of the season.

“The second round is still be played and I am confident because what I see when Roma play makes me feel confident. Lets see if we can make the top four.”
