Wayne Rooney to score at any time against Ajax – 20/21

The England striker’s brilliant brace helped sink Liverpool on Saturday and Rooney is hitting top gear just in time for United’s push for titles. Rooney traditionally scores his goals in bursts – and the 26-year-old has four in his last two games. Rooney to open his Europa League account against the Dutch champions is great value at 20/21.

Manchester United to beat Ajax – 4/5

Manchester United are making a welcome return to form in time for the business end of the season. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have impressed away from Old Trafford, losing only once in the league against Newcastle United. And buoyed by their victory over Liverpool on Saturday, United are the overwhelming favourites against an Ajax side in disarray. So, backing the Red Devils to secure a first-leg win in the Netherlands is definitely worth a punt at 4/5.
Bet365 odds

AC Milan to beat Arsenal – 11/10

AC Milan currently lead Serie A and go into Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 clash fresh from their 2-1 victory over Udinese on Saturday. And despite a recent slump in form, Massimiliano Allegri’s side have only been beaten once at the San Siro in the league – and that was by derby rivals Internazionale. Meanwhile, Arsenal have a bleak record on their travels this season, winning five games out of a possible 13. The Gunners have also won just three of their last 12 European games on the road, so a Milan win is the value bet here at 11/10.
Bet365 odds

Manchester City to draw with Porto – 9/4

Defending Europa League champions Porto are unbeaten at the Estádio do Dragão this season, collecting 25 from a possible 27 points. And while Vítor Pereira’s side may trail Benfica by a point in the league, Porto look impressive despite the departure of former manager André Villas-Boas to Chelsea. City have struggled on the road since the turn of the year, winning just one of their last six away games. So City to draw with Porto on Thursday night looks a solid bet at 9/4.

The long shot: Rooney to score first and United to beat Ajax – 4/1

Rooney said it was a “dream come true” to net two quick-fire goals in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Liverpool. The former Everton striker has 22 goals in all competitions this season, and whenever the England international has scored first, United have gone on to win. So, the Tipster’s audacious long-range effort for this edition is for Rooney to score first and the Red Devils to win at 4/1.
