José Mourinho does not expect to see Chelsea overcome Barcelona to reach the Champions League final.

The Blues booked their place in the last four with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Benfica on Wednesday, and Mourinho’s Real Madrid set up a semi-final showdown with Bayern Munich courtesy of their 8-2 aggregate triumph against Apoel Nicosia.

But the former Chelsea manager believes holders Barcelona are the “super-favourites” to reach the final against either Bayern or Real.

“It could be Bayern or Barcelona, I just don’t think it will be Real Madrid v Chelsea and we know why,” said Mourinho. “Barcelona aren’t the favourites, they are super-favourites.”

Mourinho has been linked with a return to the Premier League in recent months, but the 49-year-old insists he intends to see out his contract at the Bernabéu.

“Somebody said that I have a signed contract with Manchester City and it’s completely untrue, so I’m not happy with news that has nothing of the truth,” he continued.

“I have two more years of contract in Madrid. Everyone knows I love England and will be back one day but no-one knows when that one day is. But it’s untrue about City or any other club.”
