Barcelona have endured one of their worst weeks in recent memory following defeats by Chelsea and Real Madrid – but the Tipster is backing the talismanic Lionel Messi to fire his side into the Champions League final on Tuesday.

Our resident betting expert is predicting a thrilling encounter with plenty of goals between the holders and Roberto Di Matteo’s side at Camp Nou – but expects Chelsea to be left disappointed by a Messi-inspired Barcelona win.

Messi to score two goals or more against Chelsea – 15/8

Messi has netted two goals or more in 18 of his 48 Barcelona appearances this season. With the Argentine forward having never scored against Chelsea, he will be keen to make an impact on Tuesday night at Camp Nou. He will also be on penalty duty for Pep Guardiola’s men, so Messi to score two goals or more is a more-than-solid bet at 15/8.

Over 2.5 goals in Barcelona v Chelsea – 1/2

Four out of Barcelona’s five home games in Europe’s elite club competition have finished with over 2.5 goals this season, including a total of 22 goals in those matches. Chelsea have conceded in all but one of their away matches in the Champions League this season and have also scored in every single away fixture. So, the Tipster reckons that over 2.5 goals is a solid bet in this one at 1/2.

Barcelona to beat Chelsea and reach the final – 4/9

Pep Guardiola will be desperate to move on from one of his worst weeks in charge of the Catalans. After defeat at Stamford Bridge, as well the loss to Real Madrid on Saturday, Barça will be desperate for victory on Tuesday. They’ve won four out of their five home fixtures this season and will be going all out for victory. Barcelona to win and reach the final is a value bet at 4/9.

A red card to be issued in Barcelona v Chelsea – 2/1

This fixture was always a tempestuous affair when José Mourinho was in charge at Chelsea and with a place in the European football’s showpiece event at stake, it won’t take much for tempers to boil over. There have been three red cards in 10 meetings between these sides, and the same to happen on Tuesday night is worth a punt at 2/1.
Bet365 odds

The long shot: Lampard to score first and Barça to win – 30/1

Frank Lampard has an impressive record against Barcelona, with the 33-year-old having scored twice at the Camp Nou. The England midfielder will also be on penalty duty on Tuesday night, so the Tipster’s audacious long-range effort for this edition is for Lampard to score first but Barcelona to win at a ludicrously tempting 30/1.
