Liverpool will be desperate to win their final Premier League game at Anfield after a disappointing season, and the Tipster is backing Andy Carroll to lead the Reds to redemption against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

It should be another close game between the two FA Cup finalists, with our resident betting expert backing under 2.5 goals but the Reds to edge to a slender victory.

Carroll to score at any time against Chelsea – 2/1

Carroll was the inspiration behind Liverpool’s resurgence in the FA Cup final on Saturday, with the 23-year-old netting in the 65th minute after coming on as a substitute. The former Newcastle United striker will be keen to continue his run of form – he has three goals in his last five appearances. So the Tipster’s opening bet for this edition is for Carroll to score against Chelsea at 2/1.

Liverpool to beat Chelsea – 11/8

Liverpool were made to pay for a lacklustre start against the Blues at Wembley, with Di Matteo’s side racing into a 2-0 lead. But the Reds improved in the second half and if they can repeat that dominant spell, then Carroll and company will cause Chelsea problems. The Tipster reckons Liverpool to exact revenge for their cup defeat is good value at 11/8.

Under 2.5 goals in Liverpool v Chelsea – 17/20

The Reds’ woes in front of goal have been well documented this season, particularly at Anfield where the Merseysiders have struggled to break down opposition defences. In fact, 11 of Liverpool’s last 15 homes games have seen under three goals. Our betting expect thinks that reoccurring theme will continue on Tuesday night and under 2.5 goals is a good bet at 17/20.

Over 3.5 cards in Liverpool v Chelsea – 8/11

Chelsea and Liverpool have developed a heated rivalry over recent seasons, with numerous meetings in both domestic and European cup competitions. There have been 14 cautions in their last three games and Tuesday night’s referee, Kevin Friend, has handed out 18 yellows and one red card in games involving Liverpool this season. So over 3.5 cards at 8/11 is a value bet.

The long shot: Carroll to score and Liverpool to win 1-0 – 25/1

Carroll has developed into Liverpool’s match-winner recently, with the striker scoring dramatic goals in the Reds’ 3-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers and a 2-1 win against Everton in the FA Cup semi-final. Carroll netted against Chelsea at the weekend and the Tipster’s ambitious long-range effort for this edition is for Carroll to score and Liverpool to win 1-0 at 25/1.
