Chelsea striker Didier Drogba plays down link to Barcelona but remains coy over his future at Stamford Bridge

Didier Drogba has brushed off speculation linking him with a move from Chelsea to Barcelona – but refused to discuss his future at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian’s contract ends this summer but the Blues are only ready to offer the 34-year-old a one-year extension rather than the two-year deal the striker is after.

“Tomorrow’s game [the Champions League final against Bayern Munich] is so important, we’ve waited four years, so my future and contract is not what’s important,” he said.

“There are a lot of rumours about me and Barça – it’s not true. The excitement of the Champions League is more important than this.”
