Barcelona confirm the signing of Manchester City reserve player Joan Angel Roman on a three-year deal

Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Manchester City’s Spanish youngster Joan Angel Roman.
The 19-year-old has agreed a three-year deal with the Catalan club’s B team, with a €12m (£9.5m) release clause in his contract.
The Spaniard moved to City from Espanyol in a €1.25m (£1m) deal three years ago but failed to make a single appearance under Roberto Mancini at Eastlands.
“Being in England for three years has helped me to mature a lot and to become physically stronger,” Roman told Barcelona’s website.
“I’m raring to start and start learning. When I heard Barca were interested in me, that was my priority. I can assure you that I’ll work hard and give everything I can out on the pitch.”
Roman also thanked City for their role in his development over the past three seasons but believes joining Barcelona is the right decision to further his career.
He wrote on Twitter: “Dear all: I would like to announce that I will be playing at Barça B for the next three years.
“It hasn’t been an easy decision to leave Manchester City where I have spent three wonderful years, but all in all Barça is the best option to continue my career right now.
“And would like to give a special mention to all City fans for the support you have given me, wich will always stay with me, thank you all!” ![]()
