Chelsea will have to fend off interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs if they are to sign Porto striker Hulk this summer, according to the player’s agent.

The Blues have been relentlessly linked with a swoop for the Brazilian forward, with reports claiming the Londoners have already offered in excess of £30m for the 25-year-old.

But Hulk’s agent Teodoro Fonseca has claimed that there are a number of clubs vying for his client’s signature and revealed that Porto have offered him a fresh deal in a bid to convince him to stay in Portugal.

“The offer from Chelsea is not the only big one we have in Europe and they know that. At this moment everything depends on Porto,” said Fonesca.

“I am in constant contact with the Porto president and there are no changes. The club wants him to stay there and they have made him a new offer to stay.

“Hulk is happy at Porto and if he has to stay there it will not be a problem. He has been chased by big clubs in Europe for the last three years and he is still there.”

The news comes after the striker himself claimed Porto “would understand” if he were to leave the Portuguese club.

“I will always continue to work hard and keep my feet on the ground, regardless of whether I stay at Porto,” he told Lancenet last week.

“I have won many titles in the past four years at Porto, and I think that I have a great relationship with everyone.

“If the time has come to move on, I’ll do so with a good feeling. I have enjoyed a great time here. I’m sure that they will understand the motives behind my decision if I leave.”
