Atlético Madrid have dismissed speculation linking Radamel Falcao with a move away from the club this summer.

The Colombia striker has attracted reported interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City after impressing in his first season in Spain since moving from Porto last summer.

The 26-year-old striker netted 36 goals in 50 appearances for the La Liga outfit as Diego Simeone’s men secured Europa League glory for the second time in three seasons.

But the club’s sporting director says the rumours linking the forward with a move away from the Vicente Calderón are unfounded.

“The club has very clear ideas on this,” sporting director Jose Luis Caminero told Spanish newspaper AS. “Falcao will remain at Atlético Madrid and any talk of an exit is misplaced.

“The striker will remain with us next season and we are not considering any other possibility.”
