Cristiano Ronaldo has endured a frustrating Euro 2012 to date, but the Tipster is backing the Real Madrid forward to kick-start his tournament by scoring against the Netherlands in their Group B showdown on Sunday.

Our resident betting expert is predicting a thrilling encounter between Portugal and the Netherlands, which should see over 3.5 goals – and is tipping Germany to be leading at half-time and full-time, with their talisman Mario Gomez set to score against the Danes.

Sunday’s Euro 2012 fixtures:
Denmark v Germany (1945BST) Lviv, Group B
Portugal v Netherlands (1945BST) Kharkiv, Group B

Ronaldo to score at any time against the Netherlands – 13/10

Ronaldo has struggled in Poland and Ukraine, missing a hatful of chances in Portugal’s 3-2 victory over Denmark. However, the 27-year-old is never one to shy away from a big occasion – exemplified by his goal in Portugal’s 2-1 victory over the Dutch in the semi-finals at Euro 2004. The Real Madrid striker scored 46 goals last season, and the Tipster is backing Ronaldo to finally get off the mark by netting against the Netherlands at 13/10.
Bet365 odds

Over 3.5 goals in Portugal v Netherlands – 7/4

Portugal managed to avoid an early exit from the tournament with a dramatic 3-2 win in their last game. Meanwhile, the Netherlands suffered a 2-1 defeat by Germany, and it is worth mentioning Bert van Marwijk’s side were the top scorers in qualifying. So the Tipster believes there should be plenty of goals when these two sides meet on Sunday night, and over 3.5 goals looks like a very solid bet at 7/4.
Bet365 odds

Germany to be winning at HT and FT against Denmark – 7/5

Germany have been one of the most impressive teams at Euro 2012, seeing off the challenge of the Netherlands and Portugal with trademark efficiency. Gomez scored twice in the first half against the Dutch to leave Joachim Low’s side ahead at the break. In fact, the Germans have been leading at half-time in seven of their last eight games. Therefore, the Tipster is backing Germany to be in the lead against the Danes at the 45 minute mark as well as full-time on Sunday night at 7/5.
Bet365 odds

Gomez to score first against Denmark – 9/2

Concerns about Gomez’s form ahead of Euro 2012 were well and truly banished by the clinical Bayern Munich striker when he scored Germany’s winner against Portugal. The 26-year-old then netted twice against the Dutch to take his tally to three for the tournament – matching Denmark’s total at the European championship so far. So the Tipster is predicting a prolific Gomez to score first at 9/2.
Bet365 odds

The long shot: Portugal to score over 2.5 goals and beat the Netherlands – 3/1

Portugal will look to maintain an unbeaten record against the Netherlands that stretches back more than 20 years when the teams meet in their Group B decider. Portugal have an exceptional record when they have come up against the Dutch – winning six of 10 meetings and losing just once. So The Tipster’s long shot for this edition is for Portugal to score at least three goals in a victory over the Dutch at 3/1.
