McLaren’s Jenson Button set the pace in the final practice session for Sunday’s European Grand Prix in Valencia from Lotus duo Romain Grosjean and Kimi Raikkonen.

Button was 0.093 seconds faster than Grosjean at the Valencia Street Circuit, with Scot Paul Di Resta fifth for Force India.

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton was eighth, while Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso was 12th.

Defending world champion Sebastian Vettel was 13th but the German still looks likely to take pole position in qualifying as he was on course to easily set the fastest time on his last lap before making a mistake at the final corner.

Vettel’s Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber could only manage 19th after being hampered by a brake problem for most of the session.
