Fabio Borini plays down reports linking him with a move to Liverpool after Roma signed the striker from Parma

Fabio Borini insists he is focused on his short-term future at Roma, despite reported interested from Liverpool.
The 21-year-old was signed by Roma in a €5.3m (£4.25m) deal on Saturday after originally joining the Serie A outfit in a co-ownership deal with Parma last summer.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers worked with Borini at Chelsea when the Northern Irishman was a youth coach at Stamford Bridge before he took over at Swansea City.
The former Bologna youth graduate scored six goals in 15 appearances for the Swans after he moved to the Liberty Stadium outfit on a loan deal.
Rodgers is reportedly keen on bringing Borini to Anfield to bolster his attacking options – but the forward remains committed to Roma.
“I am at Roma now,” Borini told Goal.com. “Roma have just bought me, either today or yesterday. It’s not my business now to go to Liverpool or to stay.
“I don’t know [if there is a possibility of doing so]. For now, I am a Roma player.”
Borini scored an impressive nine goals in Serie A last season, resulting in a call-up to Cesare Prandelli’s 23-man Italy squad for the European championship.
On Friday, another Reds target Bojan Krkic reaffirmed his commitment to Roma despite reported interest from the Anfield outfit.
“I will return to Rome because I think is the best option,” he told Spanish radio station RAC1.
“I am very happy and satisfied with my first year there. Everything depends on the season I have this
year.
“It will be the highlight of my career. I want to focus on Serie A, which is quite hard, and to do my best.” ![]()
