Louis Saha urges France’s Laurent Blanc to forget Tottenham job

Louis Saha has urged Laurent Blanc to ignore reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur and stay on as France manager after Euro 2012.

The 46-year-old is one of the favourites to fill the managerial void at White Hart Lane after Harry Redknapp was sacked by Spurs last week.

France face a quarter-final match-up against defending champions Spain at the European championship after finishing as Group D runners-up behind England.

And Saha, who moved to Spurs on loan for the second half of last season, is hoping Blanc will continue his good work with the French national team.

“He’s a top manager,” Saha told TalkSPORT. “He’ll always have interest. I can imagine him being in the Premier League because of his experience.

“I want him to stay in the job for France because he has been doing a terrific job so I wouldn’t like him to go to the Premier League yet.”

The 33-year-old, who was not part of France’s disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa two years ago, has been impressed by Les Bleus’ form in Poland and Ukraine.

“It was quite an achievement to qualify for a big game against Spain. It feels like a great achievement,” Saha added.

“Technically and tactically we have to be in top form and the manager has to have a big role in that.

“Physically you can be closer to the Spanish players. You have to find the right formation and I believe Laurent Blanc will definitely change his formation.

“The expectation was to play a better style of football after the World Cup in 2010.”
