Park Ji-Sung backs Shinji Kagawa to shine at Manchester United
Park Ji-Sung is tipping Manchester United's latest signing Shinji Kagawa to be a big success at Old Trafford

Park Ji-Sung is backing Japan international Shinji Kagawa to be a success at Manchester United next season.
Kagawa will become a Red Devils player once the Borussia Dortmund midfielder has completed a medical and obtained a UK work permit, with the move expected to be finalised by the end of June.
The 23-year-old scored 17 goals in 40 appearances for Borussia Dortmund last season as Jürgen Klopp’s won the Bundesliga title for the second successive year and eased to a 5-2 victory over Bayern Munich in the German Cup final.
“I know United have agreed a deal for Kagawa and I’m happy because we’re signing a good player,” Park said at an event hosted by his JS Foundation.
“Manchester United is a huge club and every season we sign new, world-class names. I hope Kagawa shows how good he is next season and I think he will do.”
Park has scored 27 goals in 228 appearances for the Red Devils after moving to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in 2005.
The 31-year-old made just 17 Premier League appearances last season, but Park is refusing to be fazed by the arrival of another rival for a place in Sir Alex Ferguson’s midfield.
“There is a lot of competition in the squad but it doesn’t matter who I’m competing with,” he added.
“We’re a team and I just want to concentrate on producing better performances.
“We’re starting our pre-season tour next month and those matches will help me to prepare for the new season.
“As always, when I begin a new season I am determined to improve.” ![]()
