Lewandowski to score at any time v Greece – 7/4
Lewandowski has just finished a sparkling campaign for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 30 goals as Jurgen Klopp’s side won the Bundesliga and German Cup. The 23-year-old is playing at his first international tournament, but has a good track record with Poland – 14 goals in 42 appearances. So the Tipster reckons Lewandowski is a good shout to score for the co-hosts at any time against Greece at 7/4.
Bet365 odds
Poland to beat Greece – Evens
Poland will be at full strength for the opening game against Greece, and buoyed by home support, they should start their Euro 2012 campaign with a victory. Greece are struggling for goals, and the 2004 champions really lack an out-and-out goal scorer. So Poland to beat Greece is good value at Evens.
Bet365 odds
Kerzhakov to score at any time v Czech Republic – 2/1
Kerzhakov looks to be favoured over former Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko and Fulham’s Pavel Pogrebnyak up front for Russia. Kerzahkov scored 23 goals in 32 league appearances for Russian side Zenit St Petersburg last term, plus he netted 19 times for the national side. So The Tipster considers Kerzahkov to score against Czech Republic to be excellent value at 2/1.
Bet365 odds
Russia to beat Czech Republic by at least two goals – 4/1
Dick Advocaat’s Russia side have a certain fluidity and eye-catching style, and boast plenty of pace and quality. Russia are undefeated in their last eight games in past European championships, and have six clean sheets in their last seven games in the competition. So Russia to beat Czech Republic by at least two goals is a solid shout at 4/1. (Handicap result: Russia -1)
Bet365 odds
The long shot: Lewandowski to score first & Poland to win – 8/1
Lewandowski is Poland’s talisman up front, and the Borussia forward will be their most likely source of a goal should they breakdown Greece’s resilient rear guard. The co-hosts will be desperate to start their campaign in impressive style, so the Tipster’s long shot for this edition is for Lewandowski to score first and Poland to win at the very tempting odds of 8/1. ![]()
