Rennes midfielder Yann M’Vila ‘interested’ in joining Arsenal
Defensive midfielder Yann M'Vila says he would be interested in a move from Rennes to the Premier League this summer

Yann M’Vila has admitted he would be interested in a potential move to Arsenal this summer.
The Rennes defensive midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Arsenal reportedly leading the chase for the 21-year-old’s signature.
M’Vila is currently part of Laurent Blanc’s France squad at Euro 2012, and he came on as a second-half substitute in their 2-0 victory over co-hosts Ukraine on Friday.
“I have heard Arsenal are interested in me,” M’Vila said. “I like Arsenal and I like the Premier League.
“I don’t know what is happening with the clubs, but yes, I would be interested in the Premier League and Arsenal.”
World Cup winner Marcel Desailly recently urged M’Vila to join Arsenal, claiming the midfielder has the potential to be “better” than Gunners legend Patrick Vieira.
“He needs to come to the Premier League,” said Desailly. “We want him in this competition because it’s the best and he can really develop his skills.
“He likes to play with tempo. You can see the way he gets the ball and passes straight away: long ball or short ball. He has that reading which is needed in the Premier League.
“If I was a chairman of a club, I would just close my eyes and put the figure on the cheque to get him because he’s really the future if you develop him.
“I would really like to tell him, first of all, like a defender, what is your mission? It’s to defend.
“If you defend very well, anything extra that you do is fine. But first of all concentrate on defending very well and passing the ball quickly to the attackers.
“Once he will have understood that you will see he is the best midfielder – better even than Patrick Vieira.” ![]()
