Chelsea’s Frank Lampard wants consistent Premier League form
Frank Lampard calls on Chelsea to be more consistent in the Premier League this season after last term's sixth-place finish

Frank Lampard admits Chelsea’s form in the Premier League last season was not good enough and has warned the Blues they cannot afford to rest on their laurels after their cup double.
The west Londoners’ sixth-place finish in the top flight would have meant they missed out on a spot in this season’s Champions League, but their dramatic triumph over Bayern Munich booked their spot in Europe’s elite club competition.
Chelsea struggled to string together a consistent series of results in the league, both during André Villas-Boas’ doomed reign, and under Roberto Di Matteo following the Portuguese coach’s sacking.
And Lampard wants to use solid form in the Premier League as a platform for success in the other competitions as Chelsea look to defend their Champions League and FA Cup crowns.
“There is certainly no time to rest on our laurels,” Lampard told Chelsea TV. “Our league form wasn’t good enough last season, we weren’t consistent enough, and that is something that we have to put right.
“We need to take the Champions League victory and the FA Cup victory as a platform to more rather than settling for that and not pushing on as a club.
“I am sure with the personnel we have got here, the new signings and the way this club is run, we will keep striving for more.” ![]()
