Frank Lampard backs Eden Hazard to shine at Chelsea
Frank Lampard believes new signing Eden Hazard can be a "big player in Chelsea history" in years to come

Frank Lampard has backed Chelsea new boy Eden Hazard to write himself into Stamford Bridge folklore.
The Belgium international joined the Blues from Lille earlier in the summer in a deal reported to be worth around £32m after being heavily linked with a move to England.
Hazard netted 22 goals and provided 16 assists last season at Lille – and Lampard is confident the 21-year-old can develop into one of the Blues’ top players.
“My first impressions of Hazard are very good,” Lampard told Chelsea’s website. “You can see he is a natural in training with his touch, his awareness, his speed and the first time I saw him play in Seattle I could see he is player with a lot of natural ability.
“There are signs he can be a big player in Chelsea history if he wants to be.”
Chelsea have also bolstered their squad with the additions of Marko Marin and Oscar – and Lampard believes both will be good fits for the Champions League winners.
“Marin is very enjoyable to play with,” he continued. “I have only played with him once or twice and he picks up great positions on the pitch and is very sharp. He is the kind of creative player we want at Chelsea to excite the fans.
“And all the reports I have heard of Oscar are very good too and hopefully he can come and adapt to the English game very quickly.
“We have a few midfielders now who can play in areas where we can hurt the other teams, we have Juan Mata to come back as well, so the future looks good for us.” ![]()
