Liverpool have reportedly rejected two offers from Manchester City for defender Daniel Agger.

Roberto Mancini is understood to have lodged bids of £13m and £15m for the 27-year-old, and many of Liverpool’s supporters voiced their desire to keep the Denmark international on Twitter.

Here are some of the Tweets that caught our eye.

Damien Connor (@DamianConnor) reckons Daniel Agger is worth a lot more than the £24m City paid for Joleon Lescott: “If Joleon Lecott was worth £24m then Daniel Agger is worth £50m #lfc!”

And Kopzine ‏(@Kopzine) is in agreement: “For a club that paid £24m for Joleon Lescott, to offer £13m and £15m for Daniel Agger is derisory! #LFC #Agger”

Alish Upreti ‏(@alish_upreti) cannot believe Brendan Rodgers would be willing to sell Agger: “Liverpool have already rejected two offers from Manchester City for Daniel Agger…surely Rodgers is not selling him.”

But Thomas Hoppe (‏@myeternalrival) defends Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group: “It is not FSG’s fault that Daniel Agger is boss and Man City want him. I don’t think Rodgers is under pressure to sell our best players!”

While Jack Wells ‏(@JackWells7) names his price for Agger: “I’d demand at least £30m for Daniel Agger.”

However, Gaurav Bhuyan ‏(@g_3785) is not feeling positive: “I’ll be devastated to see Daniel Agger join Man City. But it’s going to happen sadly.”

Matty Blakemore (‏@maaaaaaatty) urges Liverpool not to sell Agger at any price: “Man City have had two bids (£13m & £16m) for Daniel Agger turned down, I hope we don’t let him go for any price! #LFC”

Stuart Crompton ‏(@cromptonCITY) believes Agger would merely be cover for Lescott: “Daniel Agger would be a brilliant signing as a cover defender but surely not as a replacement for @JoleonLescott #mcfc!”

Simon Hopper ‏(@hopperfootball) has praise for the Denmark international: “Daniel Agger – top player and would fit in very well at Man City if he stayed fit. Sensible transfer targeting from Mancini! #lfc #mcfc”

Jake Harrison ‏(@JakeH_11) thinks even £15m is too much: “Daniel Agger is good, but I’m not sure he’s worth more than £15m. Daniele De Rossi and Javi Martinez are both better players, and can play two roles!”

Ryan Ando ‏(@ryanmcfc85) urges the Denmark captain to hand in a transfer request: “We need Daniel Agger to hand in a transfer request, I really rate him. Will be a top signing #mcfc!”

John MCFC Downes ‏(@DownesyMCFC) can read Mancini’s mind: “This is the five Mancini wants….M’Baye Niang, Daniele De Rossi, Javier Martinez, Daniel Agger, Edinson Cavani or RVP #mcfctargets!”

Finally, Becki Thomas (‏@BunnyBabeBecki) can see Barcelona rivalling City for Agger: “After missing out on Thiago Silva, Barcelona are also preparing to bid for Daniel Agger!”
