Juventus are reportedly aiming to recruit Arsenal’s Robin van Persie and Liverpool forward Luis Suárez to lead the Serie A champions’ new-look frontline next season.

The 24-year-old Uruguayan scored 11 goals in 32 Premier League appearances last season for the Reds after moving to Liverpool from Ajax in a £22.75m deal in January 2011.

Liverpool supporters largely rubbished reports of Suárez joining the Turin outfit on Twitter, insisting the South American fits perfectly into Brendan Rodgers’ plans for the Reds.

Here are some of the Tweets that caught our eye.

Sean Ablett ‏(@Red_All_Over_71) finds Juventus’ interest in Suárez humorous: “Dear Juventus, you want to pair Van Persie with Suárez? We’d like to pair Luis with Lionel Messi. We all have our dreams. Now time to wake up. #LFC”

And Ashh Culés! (‏@Ashh_AS9) rubbishes rumours suggesting the Uruguayan will quit England for Italy: “Obvious that Luis Suárez won’t leave Liverpool, looks more likely it’ll be RVP and Jovetic leading the line next season, good or bad?#Juve”

While Kim Shelley ‏(@KimmyLFC) has a stern message for the Serie A champions: “Dear Juventus, Luis Suárez is NOT for sale! So keep your hands off him plus he said he wants to stay at #LFC so get that in you heads…”

Kunal Srinivasan ‏(@Kunal7LFC) is not concerned by the speculation: “I’m 100 per cent sure Luis Suárez will stay this season. He loves life at Anfield at the moment. He wants to win more with LFC. #LFC #SuárezSaga”

And Carl Stevenson (‏@Cm_Stevenson) is happy to see Andy Carroll go but not Suárez: “Luis Suárez has scored four more goals for Liverpool than Andy Carroll. One is a prized asset, one is a misfit. #footballlogic”

But Herfano Effendi ‏(@herfan0) disagrees with those who say Suárez is irreplaceable: “Agree, even King Kenny replaceable RT @Karlton81: Do people actually believe Luis Suárez is irreplaceable?”

Callum Griffiths ‏(@CallumGriff94) is still in awe after the Uruguayan’s hat-trick against Norwich: “Luis Suárez’s performance against Norwich was amazing.”

Paul Shackleton LFC ‏(@shacky9) cannot see why Suárez would want to leave the Premier League: “Why would Suárez want to go to Juventus the league is useless.. To slow for our Luis.. He will be still a #LFC player in September!”

And Robin Bylund ‏(@robinbylundLFC) thinks Suárez is perfectly suited to Brendan Rodgers’ style of play: “It should be very clear to everyone that Brendan Rodgers never ever will sell Luis Suárez. He’s shaped for the tiki-taka – NOT A CHANCE. #LFC”

However, if Liverpool do sell Suárez, then Vision&ValuesLFC ‏(@EternalB) wants a big fee for the striker: “If the reports are correct that Juventus have £50m to do the RVP and Suárez deals. LFC would want most of that for Luis!”

Finally, Karl ‏(@Karlton81) wants to know who Liverpool supporters would like to see replace Suárez if the forward left: “Playing devil’s advocate here, *IF* Luis Suárez was to leave #LFC who do you realistically think we could replace him with?”
