As you’d expect, the Tipster has also been examining where the value lies in this tasty pre-season clash – and our man-in-the-know is expecting a low-scoring encounter, with goals set to be at a premium.

Manchester City to draw with Besiktas – 14/5

Roberto Mancini’s side have made a lacklustre start to their pre-season campaign and have failed to secure a win from their first two matches. The opening friendly in Austria was the first time the Premier League champions had played a game since that dramatic 3-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal secured a surprise 1-0 victory before City endured a goalless draw with Dynamo Dresden. So with those two results in mind, the Tipster’s opening bet is for City to fail to win for the third time and draw against Besiktas at 14/5.

Under 2.5 goals in Manchester City v Besiktas – 13/10

City finished as the top scorers in the Premier League last season with an astounding 93 goals. But so far in pre-season it has been a struggle for City without their prolific Argentina striker Sergio Aguero, Eden Dzeko and Italy hero Mario Balotelli. The Eastlands outfit were unable to net against Al Hilal or Dynamo Dresden so their toughest opposition yet – Beskitas – could prove tricky to beat. The Tipster reckons under 2.5 goals at 13/10 is excellent value here.
Bet365 odds

No goals in Manchester City v Besiktas – 14/1

Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure were misfiring in City’s opening two friendlies and were unable to mastermind a way past Al Hilal’s defence in the first match, while Dynamo Dresden’s rearguard stood firm too. With the English champions struggling and Besiktas already in the process of fine-tuning for the start of their domestic campaign in Turkey, the Tipster reckons a goalless draw is a great shout for the more adventurous at 14/1.
Bet365 odds

0-0 score-line at half-time in Manchester City v Besiktas – 12/5

This is City’s final contest in Austria and Mancini will be eager for a better result than their previous two games. However, the Eastlands outfit have failed to impress so far in their pre-season preparations – and while remaining defensively solid, goals have been a problem. The Tipster reckons this friendly to be a goalless draw at half-time is a solid shout at 12/5.
