Team GB’s men’s football team managed to navigate the group stage unbeaten – and the Tipster is backing Daniel Sturridge to score his third goal of the tournament against South Korea to fire the hosts into the semi-finals.

Our resident betting expert is confident Stuart Peace’s men will beat South Korea in what should be an edgy quarter-final, while also tipping Brazil’s Neymar to score a brace against Honduras.

Sturridge to score at any time for Team GB v South Korea – 8/5

Sturridge has a point to prove to Roy Hodgson after being left out of England’s Euro 2012 squad. The 22-year-old has done a superb job so far for Team GB’s football team, scoring against the United Arab Emirates and netting the winner in a 1-0 victory over Uruguay. The Tipster’s opening bet for this edition is Sturridge to score at any time for the hosts at 8/5.

Team GB to beat South Korea – 11/10

Team GB are still unbeaten at the Olympics following a 1-1 draw with Senegal in the opening game and successive victories over the UAE and Uruguay. South Korea managed a 2-1 win against Switzerland, but were held to back-to-back goalless draws in their other two Group B games. So Team GB to move into the semi-finals is an excellent bet at 11/10.
Bet365 odds

Under 2.5 goals in Team GB v South Korea – 8/15

South Korea have only managed to score in one of their three games so far, securing 0-0 draws against Gabon and Mexico. Aside from an impressive 3-1 win against the UAE, Team GB’s other two Group A games were narrow affairs with less than three goals in both. So with all that in mind, the Tipster is backing under 2.5 goals in this quarter-final at 8/15.
Bet365 odds

Brazil’s Neymar to score two goals or more v Honduras – 11/4

Santos’ Neymar is the star of the Olympic football tournament in the absence of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo – and of course David Beckham. The Brazilian striker scored twice in the group stage and looks to be nearing his very best. The Tipster is backing Neymar to score at least two goals against Honduras at tempting odds of 11/4.

The long shot: Sturridge to score first & Team GB to win 1-0 – 8/1

Chelsea striker Sturridge is Team GB’s form player and it was the former Manchester City star’s goal that separated the hosts and Uruguay in their last outing. The margin of victory will be narrow in a tense last-eight meeting, and the Tipster’s audacious long-range effort for this edition is Sturridge to score first and Team GB to win 1-0.
