Chelsea got their Premier League campaign off to the perfect start with victory at Wigan – and the Tipster is backing Fernando Torres to help the Blues make it back-to-back wins by beating Reading on Wednesday night.

Our man-in-the-know is tipping Chelsea to be winning at half-time and full-time, while backing plenty of goals in an exciting match where corners will be at a premium.

Torres to be first goalscorer – 3/1

Torres scored in Chelsea’s 3-2 defeat by Manchester City in the Community Shield, before drawing blank in their 2-0 win at Wigan. However, the forward looks sharp, and the Spanish striker had a good record against Reading while at Liverpool, including a hat-trick at the Madjeski Stadium in the Carling Cup in 2007. The Tipster’s opening bet for this edition is Torres to score first against the Royals at 3/1.

Chelsea to be winning at both half-time and full-time – 4/6

Chelsea are unbeaten against Reading in their last six games, including four victories. Roberto Di Matteo’s side surged into a 2-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes against Wigan, and did not release their strangehold on the match. Chelsea to be winning at both half-time and full-time appears to be a good bet here at 4/6.

Under 11 corners in Chelsea v Reading – Evens

This is a somewhat unconventional suggestion by the Tipster, however, our resident betting expert always has an eye for good value. Chelsea only managed one corner in their trip to the DW Stadium, while Reading had just four in their 1-1 draw with Stoke. So the Tipster reckons under 11 corners is a definitely worth a punt at Evens.

Over 3.5 goals in Chelsea v Reading – 11/8

Chelsea were impressive in the first half against Wigan, and could have gone in at the break with a bigger lead than two goals. The last four meetings between Chelsea and Reading have produced 12 goals, with the two sides conjuring up some exciting matches. So The Tipster is backing over 3.5 goals between Chelsea and Reading at 11/8.

The long shot: Harte to score at any time against Chelsea – 17/2

Ian Harte developed a reputation as a deadly set-piece taker during a nine-year spell at Elland Road, scoring 36 goals for Leeds United. The defender has since had stints at Levante, Sunderland, Blackpool, and Carlisle United. He’s scored 15 goals since moving to the Royals in 2010, and the 34-year-old should be on set-piece duty at the Bridge. So the Tipster’s ambitious long shot for this edition is Hart to score at any time against Chelsea at solid odds of 17/2.
