Chelsea transfer target Moses can leave if price is right – Wigan chief
Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan says Victor Moses is free to leave if Chelsea match the Latics' asking price

Victor Moses can leave Wigan Athletic this summer if Chelsea meet the Latics’ asking price, the club’s chairman Dave Whelan has said.
The 21-year-old was central to Wigan’s successful battle against relegation last season and the Blues are keen to bring the forward to Stamford Bridge.
The Champions League winners have already signed Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and Oscar during the current transfer window, and Whelan insisted the onus is now on Chelsea to make a revised bid for Moses.
“I have spoken to Chelsea’s chief executive and they are easy to deal with. We have told them the price and they will come back and agree it or not,” said Whelan.
“We would much prefer the player to sign a new contract and stay but he wants to go to Chelsea and it’s a good club so we cannot stand in his way.”
In July, Roberto Di Matteo confirmed Chelsea’s interest in the former Crystal Palace midfielder, and the Blues’ new permanent manager was impressed by Moses’ performances last season.
“It’s something that the clubs are discussing but at the moment he is a Wigan player,” Di Matteo said. “He had a good season last season, he is young and an interesting prospect.” ![]()
