China topped the London 2012 medals table after Day 10 of the Olympics, with the United States close behind and Great Britain in third.

The third-placed hosts are still ahead of South Korea and France, as Team GB close in on their 19-gold medal tally from the 2008 Olympics, having won their 18th of the 2012 Games on Monday.

Great Britain’s equestrian jumpers secured their first Olympic gold medal since 1952, winning a jump off at Greenwich Park on Monday.

That gold came after Beth Tweddle clinched bronze in the uneven bars at the North Greenwich Arena and became the first British woman to win an Olympic medal in an individual gymnastics competition.

In the cycling, Jason Kenny claimed individual sprint gold with a thrilling victory over world champion Gregory Bauge in the final. And Victoria Pendleton and Laura Trott enjoyed impressive starts in the women’s individual sprint and omnium events.
