Anton Ferdinand believes Queens Park Rangers’ new signings are starting to show their quality ahead of the new Premier League season.

QPR boss Mark Hughes has been busy in the transfer market this summer, signing Rob Green, Ryan Nelsen, Fabio Da Silva, Park Ji-Sung, Samba Diakité and Andy Johnson.

Despite all the new faces at QPR, Ferdinand revealed Hughes’ squad is already starting to gel as the London outfit look to become an established top-flight club.

“The quality the gaffer has added to the squad is already showing,” Ferdinand told QPR’s website. “We’ve seen glimpses of what the new lads are capable of.

“As I’ve said before, the target this season is to establish ourselves as a Premier League club. If we can achieve more than that, which we are more than capable of, then we’ll all be delighted.

“We’ll look to start the season as positively as we can do and get as many points on the board as is possible early on.”

Hughes replaced Neil Warnock as QPR boss in January, and Ferdinand admitted the Welshman is seizing the opportunity to imprint his ideas on the club during the summer break after leading the Loftus Road outfit to safety in May.

“Preparation is key and it’s been meticulous under the gaffer this pre-season,” he added.

“They made it very clear from day one of pre-season that preparation is key and we’ve brought into that and it’s paying off.

“The famous saying ‘fail to prepare, prepare to fail’ has never been more obvious. They live by that and that’s something we will all benefit from.

“There’s no stone left unturned at this club and it’s great to be part of it.”
