Manchester United face a difficult trip to Goodison Park on Monday – and the Tipster is backing their new marquee signing Robin van Persie to score against Everton.

Our resident betting expert is also tipping Nikica Jelavić to net on Monday night, but is expecting the match to ultimately finish all square, with under 2.5 goals.

Van Persie to score at any time against Everton – 13/10

Van Persie scored a staggering 30 goals in 38 Premier League appearances last season for Arsenal as he won the top-flight golden boot. The 29-year-old netted the Gunners’ winner in a 1-0 victory over the Toffees at The Emirates last term, and will be desperate to net his first United goal as soon as possible. The Tipster’s opening bet for this edition is Van Persie to score at any time against Everton at solid odds of 13/10.

Jelavić to score at any time against Man Utd – 15/8

Jelavić is the latest in a string of great value signings by David Moyes at Everton. The Croatia international netted nine league goals in 14 appearances for the Toffees after joining from Rangers in January, while he continued his good form at the Euros. So The Tipster reckons the Everton forward is great value at 15/8 to score at any time on Monday night.

Everton and Manchester United to draw – 13/5

This has been a very tough fixture for United in recent years – both home and away. Arguably, their 4-4 draw with the Toffees at Old Trafford cost them the title last season. Ferguson’s side have managed one win in their last four attempts at Goodison Park, so the Tipster reckons the draw is an excellent bet at 13/5.

Under 2.5 goals in Everton v Man Utd – 4/5

With a number of new signings arriving this summer, it could take a few games for United to click into gear. A 4-3 win over Hannover aside, the Red Devils have struggled for goals in pre-season. Two of the last three meetings between these sides have also finished under 2.5 goals, and the Tipster is backing the same to happen on Monday at 4/5.

The long shot: Draw at half-time and full-time – 9/2

This fixture has traditionally been a very close affair. The last three times these sides have drawn in the Premier League, it has been level at half-time as well as full-time. A point would be a decent result for both teams, and so the Tipster’s ambitious long shot for this edition is for the match to be a draw at both half-time and full-time at 9/2.
