Ireland youngster Robbie Brady eyes loan move away from Man Utd

Robbie Brady has admitted he wants a loan move away from Manchester United to gain regular first-team football after the winger impressed in the Republic of Ireland’s 4-1 victory over Oman on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old scored his first international goal in the win at the Craven Cottage, while the Red Devils youngster also teed up Shane Long and Kevin Doyle for their respective strikes.

Brady, who scored three goals in 39 appearances during a loan spell at Hull City last season, is yet to make a senior appearance for the 19-time English champions, and the midfielder believes a temporary move will help benefit his international prospects.

“I want to stay playing [for Ireland]. I don’t want to come in and doss about so I need to be playing as many club games as I can,” Brady said.

“If that means I need to take a loan move, I will. We’ll see what happens. I’d just like to play as much football as I can and hopefully I can push on and keep playing [for the national side].”

Brady, who moved from Irish side St Kevin’s Boys to United in 2008, was pleased with his performance, while also praising Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Kevin Doyle for making him welcome in the senior squad.

“I’m delighted with the way it went, with a goal and an assist, but I thought I could have done more,” added Brady.

“I wasn’t disappointed, but I felt I could have done a bit more by getting on the ball a bit more.

“Overall it’s been great for me. I’ve gotten on well with everyone.

“Kevin Doyle is a great bloke, him and the rest of the guys are great. They’ve made me feel part of the group.”
