Tottenham travel to Reading on Sunday afternoon looking to pick up their first league win under Andre Villas-Boas – and the Tipster is backing Jermain Defoe to net for the visitors.

However, our man in the know reckons the match will finish all-square, with Reading set to deny the north Londoners a precious three points, and Pavel Pogrebnyak looking likely to score for the home side.

Defoe to score at any time v Reading – 6/5

Jermain Defoe saw his goal for England against Ukraine in midweek cruelly chalked off but the Spurs forward is always a threat and will be in the mood to prove his worth after penning a fresh contract at White Hart Lane. The 29-year-old already has one goal to his name in three outings this term and 6/5 for him to net at any time is a solid shout in this one.

Pogrebnyak to score at any time v Spurs – 2/1

The Russian striker has already opened his account for his new side after swapping Fulham for Reading and netting a great header in the 4-2 defeat by Chelsea back in August. The 28-year-old is likely to lead the line for the visit of Spurs and 2/1 for him to score at any time against the Londoners is definitely worth a punt here.

Reading and Tottenham to draw – 5/2

Villas-Boas’s Tottenham side have endured a difficult start to the season, picking up just two points from their first three games and heaping early pressure on the Portuguese coach. And taking on a newly-promoted side early in the season is never an easy task, especially away from home. Reading held Stoke in their last home game, and a draw looks a solid shout in this one at decent odds of 5/2.

Both teams to score in Reading v Tottenham – 4/5

Neither Tottenham or Reading have managed to shut out the opposition so far this season. Spurs were pegged by West Bromwich and Norwich, while Reading conceded four to Chelsea and one at home to Stoke. With all that in mind, 4/5 for both teams to score at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday seems like a top bet.

The long-shot: Reading and Tottenham to draw 1-1 – 11/2

Villas-Boas will need no reminding about how his side squandered 1-0 leads late on in their last two outings to end up with just a point when they looked on course for a win. And Reading drew their only home game this season with the same scoreline. So with that in mind, The Tipster’s audacious and ambitions long-range effort for this week is the match to finish 1-1 at brilliant odds of 11/2. You heard it here first.
