Man City 1 Arsenal 1: Roberto Mancini expresses his dismay at watching his side concede a late equaliser to the Gunners

Roberto Mancini admitted his frustration at watching his Manchester City side be pegged back by Arsenal as the Gunners earned a draw at the Etihad Stadium.

The defending champions went in 1-0 up at the break thanks to Joleon Lescott’s header after a largely even first half.

But Arsène Wenger’s men refused to give in and their persistence paid dividends in the 82nd minute, when Laurent Koscielny lashed home from close range after City failed to deal with an Arsenal corner.

The draw keeps Manchester City in seventh place, and leaves them level on points with fifth-placed Arsenal.

“We are disappointed because we were 1-0 up and we conceded a goal from a corner,” Mancini told Sky Sports.

“After that we had four or five chances to score a second goal. We have this problem, we don’t close the game and it’s clear that it’s a risk.

“We should pay more attention because in that moment, I don’t know if we lost our concentration, but it’s strange with eight minutes to go we should have our concentration at 100 per cent.”
