Mousa Dembélé hails Tottenham’s signing of Clint Dempsey
Tottenham Hotspur's Mousa Dembélé reveals his delight to be joined by former Fulham team-mate Clint Dempsey at Spurs

Mousa Dembélé has hailed the arrival of his former Fulham team-mate Clint Dempsey at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Belgian, who completed a £15m to Spurs from the Cottagers last week, was joined by Dempsey at White Hart Lane after the north London club completed a £6m swoop for the American on deadline day.
Dempsey scored 17 Premier League goals for Martin Jol’s side last season, and Dembélé is confident the former New England Revolution star will be a hit at Tottenham.
“Clint always is so dangerous,” Dembélé said. “I sent him a message saying I was very happy because he is a fantastic player. He is a good boy so I am very happy that he is here.
“He is so hungry to score goals. He fights a lot and it is fantastic to have him in the team.
“He works as hard as two men so I’d prefer to have him in my team rather than play against him.”
The 29-year-old Dembélé, who inspired Fulham to a 5-0 victory over Norwich on the opening day of the season, netted his first Tottenham goal in a 1-1 draw with the Canaries at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
“I scored a goal but I would be happier if we got three points,” Dembélé added. “It’s difficult to tell what the difference was [between the two games].
“Norwich played different [to the Fulham game], but we have a fantastic team here. This is a very big club. The stadium is nice and all the boys were
fantastic with me when I came in.
“It’s a very warm club. That’s why I chose Tottenham.” ![]()
