Newcastle transfers: Alan Pardew reveals Demba Ba could seal a move away from St James' Park for as little as £7m in January

Alan Pardew has revealed Demba Ba could leave Newcastle United for as little as £7m in January due to a clause in the striker’s contract.
The Senegal forward has been the subject of reports linking him with a move away from St James’ Park after his agent suggested the 27-year-old was frustrated with his current role at the club.
Half-time substitute Ba scored a superb double to grab a point for Newcastle at Everton on Monday – but Pardew has admitted his concern over the striker’s contract situation.
“There is that clause in his contract and it makes us vulnerable,” said Pardew. “It’s still open in the next window.
“I have spoken to Demba [about his agent] and told him I was disappointed with some of the comments around him. Sometimes it’s out of his control and out of my control.
“But we know each other well enough, and I’ve got no problems with him, because he is a team player who wants to do his best for the team. He has always been like that.”
Ba has scored 19 goals in 41 appearances for Newcastle United after signing from West Ham United on a free transfer in June 2011. ![]()
