Liverpool striker Fabio Borini out for three months with foot injury
Liverpool reveal Fabio Borini to undergo an operation on a fractured bone in his foot and will be sidelined for three months

Fabio Borini will be out of action for three months after Liverpool confirmed the striker requires an operation on a fractured bone in his foot.
The 21-year-old aggravated the problem first picked up in a 2-1 defeat by Manchester United while training with Italy’s Under-21 side in Pescara last week.
Borini’s injury leaves Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers with Luis Suárez as his only recognised forward – Reds striker Andy Carroll is currently on a season-long loan at West Ham United.
A statement from the Merseyside outfit read: “The forward originally sustained an injury to the area during the recent Anfield clash with Manchester United.
“He then further aggravated the problem resulting in a fracture and returned from international duty with Italy last week.
“Borini was assessed by the club’s medical team upon his return to Melwood and a decision was made for the 21-year-old to have surgery.
“Typically, an injury of this nature requires a three-month rehabilitation period.”
Borini has scored once in 11 appearances for Liverpool since completing his £10m move from Roma to Anfield in July. ![]()
