QPR manager Mark Hughes will improve us, insists Alejandro Faurlín

Alejandro Faurlín believes Mark Hughes is on the way to improving Queens Park Rangers, despite a slow start to the Welshman’s first full season in charge.

The Hoops are still chasing their first Premier League win this term after failing to beat 10-man Everton in a 1-1 draw at Loftus Road on Sunday.

Hughes, who replaced Neil Warnock earlier this year, completely overhauled his squad during the summer, making 11 new signings in a bid to consolidate QPR’s top-flight status.

The 26-year-old, who was signed in 2009, revealed Hughes and Warnock’s management style differs greatly, but the former Institute star is enjoying life under the Hoops’ current boss.

“They are obviously both different kind of managers,” said Faurlín. “As a professional, you try to take the positives of both.

“We’re enjoying training under Mark Hughes, and under Neil Warnock, I enjoyed my two years.

“The year of the promotion was good times for QPR. But Mark is a really good manager and he will improve QPR.”

He added: “Every manager has his own character and way to make a player understand how they work.

“Obviously they are different. Mark makes us understand what he wants, and we work very good on the pitch. It’s different ways.”

Faurlín, who has made four appearances this season, did not feature in QPR’s stalemate with Everton – and the midfielder admitted he is still recovering from the season-ending knee injury he suffered back in January.

“It’s difficult to keep the muscle when you play five or six games in a row,” added Faurlín.

“The muscle started to go down again in the last two or three weeks. So I did a lot of work on it during the international break.”
