Michael Laudrup admitted it was important Swansea City “stopped the losses” after his side came from behind to secure a draw with Reading at the Liberty Stadium.

The visitors took the lead when Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm was unable to stop Pavel Pogrebnyak’s shot in the 31st minute.

Reading striker Noel Hunt scored his second Premier League goal after half-time to leave the Royals on the verge of their first victory.

But Swansea struck back through Michu before Wayne Routledge’s strike restored parity with 12 minutes remaining, ensuring Laudrup’s side ended their three-game losing streak.

“I think when you’re 2-0 down and come back you should be pleased and then you add we had three consecutive defeats,” said Laudrup.

“When we don’t play so well we lose and then when we play well we are still losing at half time.

“I said to the boys you’re the only ones who can change this, had six or seven chances and then scored two goals and we should have had a penalty. I think it was obvious but then the referee did not give it – they can have good and bad days like me.

“It is important that we stopped the losses. That was important, you can one point from four is quite poor but we are still five clear of the bottom.

“These are the games that show if your team has character and I think we showed that today.”
