We’re reaching the business end of the Capital One Cup, and the Tipster is backing Marouane Chamakh to net for Arsenal against Bradford City at Valley Parade on Tuesday night.

Our resident betting expert is backing both teams to score when the Gunners face the League Two outfit, but is tipping goals to be at a premium at the Stadium of Light between Sunderland and Reading.

Our man-in-the-know is also backing Sébastien Bassong to score in a Norwich City victory over Aston Villa.

Chamakh to score any time for Arsenal v Bradford – 21/20

Marouane Chamakh looks destined for an Emirates exit, if the newspapers are to be believed, but Arsène Wenger’s lack of options up front means the Frenchman is likely to start Tuesday’s clash. The 28-year-old netted an extra-time double in Arsenal’s last league cup outing, the 7-5 thriller at Reading, and with Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott missing for Tuesday’s clash, 21/20 for the former Bordeaux man to score any time is definitely worth a punt.

Both teams to score in Bradford v Arsenal – 4/5

It’s a tough game to call with a fourth-placed League Two side meeting an Arsenal side which is set to be packed with a mixture of youth and reserve players. Arsenal can’t be backed at 1/3 with such an uncertain team being picked. Arsenal have conceded in both of their League Cup games this term and they leaked five goals in that extraordinary game last time out at Reading. Bradford have managed 31 goals in 21 league outings this season, and with a full-strength team out against Arsenal, the Tipster reckons both teams to score at 4/5 looks a good-value punt.
Bet365 odds

Under 2.5 goals in Sunderland v Reading – 3/4

With the news that their leading scorer Steven Fletcher is doubtful, Sunderland could struggle for goals. The Black Cats have found finding the net difficult this season – only QPR and Aston Villa have scored fewer – with 14 goals in their 15 league games. They have only managed more than a goal at home once this season and with the injury in mind, the Tipster can see them struggling to find the net again. Reading have failed to score in their last two away games, so odds of 3/4 for under 2.5 goals looks a safe bet.
Bet365 odds

Norwich to beat Aston Villa – Evens

Although the priority for both of these teams is to remain in the Premier League, both sides are likely to field strong line-ups. Norwich are on a very impressive 10-game unbeaten run and there is no way that they will want that run to end. With the form the Canaries are in, the Tipster expects they will have too much for Villa at home. Norwich to beat Paul Lambert’s side is worth a punt at Evens.

The long shot: Bassong to score any time v Villa – 9/1

Bassong has been prolific for the Canaries in recent weeks. In fact, he has been Chris Hughton’s top scorer in the past four games. He netted against Everton, Sunderland and Swansea to help his side pick up eight points out of a possible 12. The Tipster is ambitiously backing the centre-half to net against Villa on Tuesday night at great odds of 9/1.
