The Blues have been linked with a host of names in recent weeks and months, including the likes of Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Willian and Atlético Madrid forward Radamel Falcao.
Benítez says he has been exchanging ideas with Emenalo over which areas the Blues may need to strengthen in next month’s window.
And the Spaniard is hoping to hold some more detailed discussions over the club’s plans for January after Chelsea’s Capital One Cup quarter-final clash at Leeds United on Wednesday.
“Hopefully we have two or three days after this game where we’ll have plenty of time to talk about names,” said the Chelsea interim boss.
“There’s no formal meeting because we can chat every day. Michael is watching the training session and we talk every day – about players and how the team is doing.
“I know what Michael likes and he knows what I like and we come to an agreement.”
