Rafael Nadal excited over return to action after lengthy injury lay-off

Rafael Nadal confirms that he will return to action following a six-month absence at an exhibition tournament later this month

Rafael Nadal has admitted his excitement over his return to action at an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi later this month.

The Spaniard has not featured since his shock second-round loss to Lukas Rosol at Wimbledon back in June due to a knee injury, but has confirmed he is due to play in the Mubadala World Championship from 27 December.

“Can’t wait to get back on court in Abu Dhabi at the end of the month,” Nadal wrote on his Facebook page.

“I won the Mubadala World Tennis Championship in 2010 and 2011 – would love to get my hands on the trophy again this year!”
