We’re reaching the business end of the Capital One Cup, and the Tipster is backing Demba Ba to continue his fine start for Chelsea by netting against Swansea City on Wednesday night.

Our man-in-the-know is also backing Chelsea to beat Swansea in a high-scoring affair at Stamford Bridge, with his outside shout being the Blues to score at least four goals.

On Tuesday night, our expert is tipping Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke to net against Bradford City at Valley Parade, with over 2.5 goals also worth a flutter.

Ba to score any time for Chelsea v Swansea – 4/6

Chelsea’s new £7.5m signing made the perfect start to his Blues career with a brace in a 5-1 victory over Southampton in the FA Cup third round. It took Ba’s tally to 15 goals in all competitions this season. The Senegal international should start – possibly alongside Fernando Torres – and the Tipster is backing him to net again at 4/6.

Over 2.5 goals and Chelsea to beat Swansea – 20/21

Chelsea were 4-1 winners against the Swans at Stamford Bridge last season in the Premier League. The Blues have scored a total of 23 goals in their last six games and they were unbeaten at home until a shock loss to Queens Park Rangers. Swansea’s last three outings have produced at least three goals, so the Tipster reckons Chelsea to win and over 2.5 goals is a great shout at 20/21.

Villa’s Benteke to score any time v Bradford – 10/11

Benteke was rested for Villa’s 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town in the FA Cup third round on Saturday. Even though Darren Bent did score, the Tipster expects Paul Lambert to reinstate the muscular Belgian for the trip to Valley Parade. Benteke has scored nine goals in 21 appearances this season, and he’s 10/11 to net any time against Bradford in the Capital One Cup.

Over 2.5 goals in Bradford v Villa – 3/4

Lambert’s men have struggled in the Premier League over the festive period after initially starting December well. There have been over 2.5 goals in their last five games, including a demoralising 8-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. In addition, there have been nine goals in Bradford’s last two home games. The Tipster reckons over 2.5 goals is a good shout at 3/4.

The long shot: Chelsea to score over 3.5 goals – 4/1

Despite the aforementioned shock defeat by QPR at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, Rafael Benítez has got his Chelsea side purring nicely. In the cup competitions, the Blues have scored five goals in successive games (in the Capital One Cup and FA Cup) against Leeds United and Southampton. While Swansea will provide a much sterner test, the Tipster reckons Chelsea to score over 3.5 goals against the Swans is worth a punt at 4/1. Bet365 odds
